Translucency of nanoparticle-reinforced PMMA denture base material: An in-vitro comparative study
نویسندگان
چکیده
The aim of this study was to assess the translucency denture base acrylic resin reinforced with zirconium dioxide (ZrO2NPs), silicon (SiO2NPs), and diamond (DNPs) nanoparticles. A total 130 heat-polymerized discs (15×2.5 mm) were fabricated conventionally divided into control experimental groups according nanoparticle type concentration (0.5, 1, 1.5, 2.5 wt%). Unmodified specimens served as control. All thermocycled (5,000 cycles). Translucency measured using a spectrophotometer. ANOVA post-hoc Turkeys’ test used for data analysis at ?=0.05. modified PMMA significantly lower than (p<0.05) except 0.5% ZrO2NPs SiO2NPs (p>0.05) which exhibited highest values among groups. As NPs increased, decreased lowest value seen 2.5% DNPs (1.18±0.10). addition ZrO2NPs, SiO2NPs, translucency.

Physical Properties of Polyamide-12 versus PMMA Denture Base Material
OBJECTIVES Polyamide-12 (PA) is a flexible material suited for denture bases and clasping. This study investigated its potential aging effects with a focus on surface roughness, color stability, and elasticity. METHODS PA specimens (Valplast) of 40×10×2 mm and equally measuring PMMA specimens (Palapress) as control were fabricated. Color changes after storage in air, water, coffee, and red wi...

PURPOSE This in vitro study intended to investigate the mechanical and thermal characteristics of Valplast, and of polymethyl methacrylate denture base resin in which different esthetic fibers (E-glass, nylon 6 or nylon 6.6) were added. MATERIALS AND METHODS FIVE GROUPS WERE FORMED: control (PMMA), PMMA-E glass, PMMA-nylon 6, PMMA-nylon 6.6 and Valplast resin. For the transverse strength test...

Introduction: Detachment of denture teeth from denture base is one of the most common reasons for costly denture repairs .This study aimed at evaluating the bond strength of an acrylic denture tooth to polyamide injection-molded thermoplastic denture base material compared with three conventional polymethylmethacrylate (PMMA) denture base resins. Materials and Method: A total of 40 acrylic dent...

This paper reviews acrylic denture base resin enhancement during the past few decades. Specific attention is given to the effect of fiber, filler, and nanofiller addition on poly(methyl methacrylate) (PMMA) properties. The review is based on scientific reviews, papers, and abstracts, as well as studies concerning the effect of additives, fibers, fillers, and reinforcement materials on PMMA, pub...
